An isolated area, unhindered by the trees that crowd neighboring Cape Royal, Cape Final is a balding lookout point that offers an uncluttered view of the eastern side of the Grand Canyon. Its remote location and expansive clarity make it one of the most beautiful on the north rim.
Located along Cape Royal road, on the North Rim’s Walhalla Plateau, the trail is isolated but easy to follow. The main outlook is located 2-miles (3.2 km) along a forested path and up a short pile of rocks that will require minimal scrambling.
A moderate trail, considering its location at the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, Cape Final is often overlooked, therefore, it is highly likely that you will find yourself alone at the lookout point. The opportunity of being alone with a beautiful view is something many hikers dream of- and travel hundreds and hundreds of miles to witness. This outlook is fairly easy to access and the view is absolutely spectacular.
